The British Double Reed Society (BDRS) was founded in 1988 to promote and enhance the interests of all double reed players – whether students, amateurs, professionals, or teachers.

  •   International Double Reed Society (IDRS) Conferences – last held in Thailand in 2023; the next conference takes place in Arizona in July 2024.

Renewing your membership

How do I renew my membership?

If you are a BDRS membership who has started a new membership using this website, all renewals will be handled directly using the payment method you used previously.

For existing BDRS members who signed up before April 2025 the following information applies:

For UK members we ask that you pay your membership renewal by bank transfer or our preferred method Standing Order.

We wish to reserve payment by PayPal to non-UK members as there are charges for the society when PayPal is used.

Membership fees for UK members are:

Student – £20.00 per annum;
Standard – £30.00 per annum.

These fees also apply for non-UK members who opt to receive digital copies of DRN.

If you wish to set up a new Standing Order, amend an existing one, or pay via bank transfer, please contact your bank or use online banking facilities to arrange this. Please note that this is a business account.
